My Generation

Lately I've been seeing more and more depictions of American teens in a negative sense. The more I see it the more it makes sense. I always hear about how things used to be and I could never imagine living back then, and working that hard. I always see articles about teenagers and their depressing problems. It is true that lots of teens are drinking and behaving badly. Drugs are used by kids younger and younger each year. Its ridiculous!

It is also obvious that kids are having sex at younger and younger ages. Everyone is getting pregnant at 16 now. There is even a stupid over rated show on MTV that sends a horrible message about our generation. Every minutes on TV there is something about sex or related to sex. We constantly see commercials that are very sexual. It is embarrising to me and a lot of other teens to only hear bad things about ourselves. Not all people of our generation are drug craving sex addicts.

On the contrary there are many teens that love abusing drugs and alcohol. It is one of the greatest topics of interest. Everywhere you go you will hear somebody saying something closely related to sex or drugs. I believe that our generation was ruined by the alcohol abusing generation in front of us. We were all influenced in some way by someone older, and this put the idea into our heads. I guaruntee if older people didn't talk about sex in front of us or smoke in front of us we would all be a lot different.

Parents and adults need to watch what they expose to younger children because it may have some effect of them in the future. Watching what you do around a kid can make room for a better life in the future. The teens of our generation need to put a stop to this ongoing problem.

Technology and America, LOL

Technology has advanced our society and dumbed it down at the same time. It makes a lot of hard tasks easier, but at the same time creates a lot of distractions. We rely on computers and technology so much that it consumes our life and we get lost in it. There are two sides of arguments to technology, if it hurts us more than helps us, or vice versa. I personally think that it is helping us more, but still is shortening attention spans. If we knew the right way to use technology and not abuse it; the world would be a better place. The military uses robots and other mechanical things to aid them in battle. There is a superhuman robot suit that increases strength and ability substantially; this particular piece of technology is very helpful. The military also uses robots to defuse bombs and go on dangerous missions; these machines are saving lives throughout the world.

Although there are many positive effects of technology, there are tons of downfalls. Video games are a huge brain damager and can cause mental problems in the future. Video games are known to cause attention deficit disorder and severe anxiety in children. The more often you play video games and the more hours you play the worse it can get for a person. Also the use of cell phones in teenagers can be dangerous as well. Teens die everyday from being distracted by their cell phones while driving. But many parents argue that without cellular telephones it would be nearly impossible to get a hold of their children. Despite all these arguments, if we didn't have technology America would be a completely different place! Television is also a huge distraction for everyone in the world. It takes up a lot of time and it is doing nothing positive for the mind.

Football

Football is one of my favorite sports and it should be crowned the best sport ever. It is stress relieving and very intense at the same time. You can hit people as hard as you want and talk a lot of smack. Football is also a very dirty game with lots of cheap shots and penalties. At the bottom of a pile is the worst because people will do anything to get their hands on that ball. Football is usually a sport for real men because it takes a lot of physical ability. The game of football is also mental because you need to get yourself mentally prepared for the hitting and plays. It is also mental because you need to memorize all of the plays and techniques. I understand that this is a very boring blog but I'm doing this because it is last minute and ten o clock at night. I'm basically just pulling stuff out of my butt and hoping that I end up at the three hundred work mark soon. So anyway, back to boring facts about football. The fields are incredible because they are one hundred yards each, which is pretty amazing. I enjoy playing football because it is basically the only sport that I am semi good at. Last year I ended up having a concussion and a messed up leg which took away from my season tremendously. Varsity football is definitely a big step up from sophomore, the hits are harder and the players are faster. After awhile I got used to it and began delivering the hits instead of getting them. I am happy next year is my senior year and it's going to be a blast. I can't wait to lift everyday and get as big as possible for next year in football. I like chocolate! I hope everyone likes football.
